Painting lovely oranges on a vase is quite easy when you use Anna's clever trick. "Citrus fruits bring colour and joy to the home," Anna says.
Cut two circles from a new kitchen sponge. One should be bigger than the other.
Mix red and yellow porcelain paint to a lovely orange colour. Dip the sponges in the paint and dab them on the vase in various places to make round oranges spots.
Now, paint directly on the sponges with the yellow paint and once again dab on the orange spots on the vase.
Now, carefully paint green leaves and branches among the oranges all the way around the vase with differently sized paintbrushes. Here, the potter's wheel is a great help.
Let the paint dry for 4 hours. Then, place the vase in a cold oven and turn it on at 160 degrees at conventional oven setting. "Bake" the vase for 90 minutes.
When the vase has cooled off, remove it from the oven. You can now paint the vase with clear varnish, if you like.
