Charming meringue pops
"Ta-da," the nephew exclaims with pride as he lifts the piping bag from the baking sheet and admires the lovely meringue pops. "Now they just need to go in the oven," Anna explains with a smile. Follow her instructions and serve a wealth of sweet meringues for your dear ones.
Preheat your oven to 100 C fan.
Pour the egg whites into a bowl and whip them with an electric handmixer or a stand mixer until the eggs fluffy.
Add sugar gradually and beat the egg mixture stiff.
Add vinegar and beat the mixture once again. If you wish to colour your meringue, you can add powdered food colouring at this step. "You can also separate the mixture into two and hereby make two different colours," Clara suggests.
Add the meringue mixture to a piping bag with your desired nozzle.
Place a skewer on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and begin piping from the middle of the skewer. Move the piping bag from side to side until you reach your desired shape and repeat this process until all of the meringue mixture is used up. "Unleash your creativity and experiement with different shapes, colours, and nozzles," Anna suggests.
Bake your meringue in the preheated oven for an hour.
Turn off the oven and leave your meringues to cool in the oven.
When the oven is cooled, take out your meringues and carefully lift the meringue filled skewers from the baking sheet.
Your meringues are now ready to be enjoyed, and you can, for example, let them be a part of a beautifully decorated table by sticking them into a piece of floral foam along with wonderful flowers.
