Each year in December, Anna and Clara bake Christmas biscuits and other treats for the season’s family visits and meals.
This year, they have chosen to add a small biscuit to the table.
Cut the butter into small pieces, and place the pieces into a bowl. Pour flour and icing sugar into the bowl, and knead it together with the butter. Knead the dough until it has a uniform consistency, and then divide it into three equal portions.
Cut the chocolate into small pieces, and knead it into the first portion of dough. Roll the portion into a log-shaped mass, and cut into slices.
Roll the second portion of dough into a log-shaped mass, and then roll it in icing sugar. Cut the second portion into slices as well.
Roll out the third portion of dough using a rolling pin, then cut out some adorably shaped biscuits with your preferred cookie cutters. Place all of the biscuits on one or more baking sheets, and bake in the middle of the oven at 200 degrees until they turn golden-brown.
Remember that you can always freeze the rolls as they are and simply take them out and bake them when unexpected guests arrive at the door. This way, you can always offer freshly baked biscuits to your Christmas guests. You can also give them away to your loved ones who do not have the time or wherewithal to bake this Christmas.
