A collection of flower holders in different colours adorn the sisters’ home. Anna has transformed a dried bouquet into multiple decorative items. “Now the bouquet can adorn almost every room,†Clara chuckles.
Form a lump of self-hardening clay (no matter the colour) in you preferred, quirky shape. “An organic look can be quite decorative,†as Anna says. Dip your fingers in water throughout the shaping and use this water to smooth out the figure.
Put your preferred dried flowers in the wet clay and leave it to dry. Self-hardening clay should not dry in a warm environment, so make sure to keep it away from direct sunlight, radiators, or floor heating as this will make the clay crack. The drying process takes about two to three days and cracks can be avoided by letting the clay dry slowly and by not putting too thick stems into the clay.
Paint your flower holders in your preferred colours and let them dry again.
If your clay has cracked, you can try to even out the cracks with the glue from a glue gun. If the cracks are not too bad, you can try to cover them with paint.
