Decorative advent calendar
"Wow, that is so beautiful," the nephew exclaims when he sees the Advent calendar that Anna has made for him. Follow Anna's lead and create an Advent calendar that will spread Christmas magic.
Download and print the pattern.
Use the pattern to cut out 12 shapes. Anna cuts out six white and six red.
Glue the shapes together with an overlap of about 0.5 cm, so you end up with a pointy roof with rounded edges.
Using the jute twine, create a spiderweb by going criss-cross around the metal ring as shown in the video. Glue the string onto the metal ring using the glue gun as you go. Glue the metal ring to the roof.
Decorate the roof as you wish. Anna uses different ribbons to add a bit of magic and quirkiness.
Tie a ribbon in the middle of the spiderweb in the ring and lead it up through the tip of the roof.
Cut out a circle of craft paper and shape it like a cone with a hole in the top. Glue this onto the top of the roof.
Now, tie all the Advent calendar gifts evenly around the web of jute twine inside the ring. If the weight of the gifts varies, it may be easier to hang up the roof before you fasten the gifts, the sisters suggest.
