New Year's Eve hairband for children
The sisters enjoy making homemade decorations and accessories for the last day of the year. Freshen up an old hairband and use it to celebrate the past year. "The dear little ones will especially enjoy this festive hairband," Anna says.
If your old hairband needs it, glue and wrap it in ribbon to give it a lovely new colour.
Cut a long strip at about 3.5 cm of your chosen design paper and fold it with 1 cm space in between each fold to make half a rosette. Glue the half rosette on to your hairband close to one of the sides.
Cut a square out of the glitter cardboard with a height of 4 cm and a width of 6 cm. Roll the square with a pencil and close it with glue to make a cylinder.
Cut a circle with a diameter of 3 cm and make a cut from the edge of the circle to the middle. Fold the ends of the circle on top of each other to create the tip of a firework rocket. Glue the tip onto the cylinder to make a firework rocket.
Cut two-three strips of the ribbon with sequins and glue them together at the end of the firework rocket.
Cut a piece of the metal wire and wrap it around your finger a couple of times to make a spiral.
Glue the rocket to one of the ends of the spiral. Glue the other end of the spiral to the half rosette. Make a smaller rocket using a square with a height of about 3,5 cm. Mount the new rocket to the half rosette.
Glue a couple of the paper fan cake toppers onto the rosette. If you find it easier you can cut of the wooden sticks of the paper fans to glue them to the hairband.
