Add a dash of elegance to your home décor with this sculptural lampshade of paper. "You can use single-coloured or patterned craft paper. The only limit is your imagination," Anna says.
Pleat the length of the paper approx. ten times. Cut and fold the paper so that the pleats match each other at the top.
Now, cut through the folded paper. Cut an arch from the right side of the fold to the top left corner. Use this as a guide for the next five fans so you will end up having six fans in total.
Now, pleat the arched form again by opening at the fold and pleating from the narrowest point, so your pleats now will be half the size they were before and continuously become longer and longer.
Cut along the fold and glue the two long ends together with double-sided adhesive tape.
Now, make smaller fans like Anna shows in the video. You will need six fans.
Use the glue gun to glue two ends of metal sticks on each side of the middle of a fan. Repeat on all fans.
Cut thin strips of your excess paper from the fans. Paint the strips with hobby glue and twist them around the gathered end of your fan. Continue until the metal sticks are covered on every fan.
Use the socket to check how the ring for installation of the lamp should be shaped and which size it should be. Using a socket which is simply screwed on for installation would be the easiest as the ring can be wedged in. Cut the ring so it fits and twist it around itself as shown in the video and tie strips of paper around it.
Cut excess metal stick off the fans and twist them onto the ring. It may help to place the fans in whichever combination you would like them to be in when the lamp is assembled. You can easily move the fans around if you would like to adjust something. Place the ring with the fans on the socket and screw on the other end of the socket. Place the lampshade where you like.
