Starfish muffins
”From the salty sea to the sweet plate,” Anna says while she decorates the little muffins with starfish of dyed marzipan. She promises that they taste of neither sea salt nor seaweed.
Bake the muffins following the instructions on the packaging. Let the muffins cool down completely before you decorate them.
Whisk butter, powdered sugar, and a bit of lemon juice into an airy mass. Spread the butter cream frosting onto your muffins.
Mix the marzipan with powdered sugar and colouring paste. Leave this to cool in the refrigerator.
While the marzipan mass cools off, make the small eyes of icing. Mix egg whites with powdered sugar. Mix 1/3 of the icing with a bit of cocoa so it becomes dark brown. Make small buttons of white icing and put a dark brown dot on all of them so they look like eyes. Let the eyes dry for 30 minutes.
Shape stars out of the marzipan and attach the eyes. Decorate your muffins with a starfish on each muffin.
