Beetle brooch with beads
With homemade jewellery, your style truly becomes unique, if you ask the sisters. Do as Anna does and create a brooch with beads, which is sure to catch the eye.
Cut two pieces of felt in the shape of a beetle or any other design you would like for your brooch.
One piece of felt should be the front of the brooch. Sew beads onto one side of the felt piece in shapes and colours resembling a beetle. In the video, Anna has used beads in different colours and sizes.
Now it is time to make the beetle's legs by attaching beads to a piece of metal wire and trimming the wire to the desired length using side-cutting pliers. Next, sew the legs onto the back of the beetle.
Sew a brooch pin onto the second piece of felt, which will become the back of the brooch.
Sew both pieces of felt together along the edge. However, do not sew the last quarter together, as the beetle needs to be stuffed with a bit of polyester stuffing or cotton wool. Once you have filled the beetle with stuffing, you can sew the felt pieces completely together, and the brooch is ready to adorn your jacket, blouse, or sweater.
