”Learn how to knit with the right equipment,” Clara says. If you are new to the world of knitting, the first step would be to choose yarn and knitting needles. Anna recommends that you choose knitting needles which are not too small for you first knitting project. ”The bigger the knitting needles are, the faster you will see results,” she explains. The sisters advise you to choose knitting needles which are between the sizes 4 and 6, as these are not too small nor too big. Amongst the sisters’ products, you can always find a wide selection of yarn and accessories.
When learning how to knit, it is a good idea to choose wool yarn as this stretches and therefore is not as tough to knit with. Maybe you can ask for help to get started, if one of your dear ones is good at knitting. ”It then becomes both a time of ’hygge’ and learning,” Anna says with a smile.
Prjónum saman
Anna very much enjoys knitting together with others, so she has gathered her near and dear ones to form a knitting club. ”There is something especially lovely about knitting in the company of others who also love to knit,” she says with a smile. The club meets once a month, and besides knitting together they share advice, ideas, and knitting patterns with each other. ”The joy of knitting doubles when it is shared with others,” as Anna says.
Anna often tries her hand at developing new knitting patterns for everything from jumpers to hats, teddies, and decorations. She is delighted to share her wonderful projects with you and your loved ones, which is why you can find a wide selection of free knitting patterns and creative ideas with yarn amongst the sisters’ DIY-projects.

The sisters experience a very special joy when knitted creations find their way to the hands of a child. Therefore, the sisters have made multiple knitting patterns for the dear little ones. You will find patterns for jumpers, bibs, and small, warm hats. ”It is especially wonderful to knit for the little ones, because the results are quicker to appear,” Clara thinks.
Amongst Anna and Clara’s knitting patterns, you will also find a soft and plush wool teddy and pretty, knitted dolls that the sisters have created for their nieces. ”Knitted teddies and dolls are a sweet and personal gift, which the dear little ones most definitely will appreciate,” Anna says.
Heillandi felt
”Yarn can also be transformed into wonderous felt,” Anna says. Over time, she has both made felt slippers, hats, and purses. Felting happens when you wash wool in warm water as this tightens its fibres. ”You can easily use detergent specifically for wool, if you would like to make felt,” Anna recommends. She also recommends that you always make felt by choosing a longer wash cycle and that you put a towel in the washing machine as well. ”This makes for a more effective felting process,” Anna explains.
If you wish to experiment with felting, you can follow a pattern for this purpose. When you follow the knitting patterns, the result will be large before washing it in the washing machine. ”However, after a completed cycle, both the size and texture will be transformed,” Anna explains. ”This truly is the magic of yarn.”
