Blissful beaded flowers
"One by one, the little beads fall into place before finally blooming into a lovely lupin," Anna smiles and adds another blue bead to the thread. Follow in her footsteps by using the guide to create your own beaded flowers in your preferred colours.
Take 2-3 stem wires and gather them by wrapping a piece of approx. 20 cm long floral tape around the assembly.
Make small buds for the flower by collecting approx. 18 light green beads on a metal wire. Make a noose at the end and wrap it with a few twists. Then collect approx. 10 beads on a new metal wire and twist it again a few times. Nap off the bud so that there are 2 metal wire ends of approx. 7 cm’s length at the end of the bud. Repeat approx. 10 times, depending on how compact you want your lupine flower.
Now make small buds with colour by collecting approx. 20 blue beads on a metal wire. Finish by making a noose and twist a few times at the end. Then collect approx. 12 beads and twist again by the end of the small flower bud. Now the flower has taken the shape of a small oval bowl.
Take a new metal wire, and this time make white buds following the same procedure as above. After that, make a small soft crack on the white loop so that it faces down towards the blue flower bowl.
Nap off the metal wire at a length of approx. 7 cm, and twist both ends loosely together.
Repeat step 2-5 several times and continually enlarge the flowers by gradually adding more pearls, without altering the shape. In the end you will see a lovely lupin flower, ready for decorating in your favourite vase.
