Breathtaking raglan sweater

You can make this sweater in one colour or in stripes, e.g. using yarns left over from other projects.

Using circular knitting needle size 6.0 mm and 2 strands (1 strand of Anna and Clara’s wool bamboo yarn and 1 strand of Anna and Clara’s mohair yarn), cast on 130 (142) 156 stitches (sts).

Work rib: Knit (k) 1, purl (p) 1. Work 12 (14) 16 rounds (rds). Set a stitch marker (ssm) at start of rd.

Continue working in stocking stitch until the body measures 30 (33) 36 cm.

Next rd: Cast off 4 (4) 6 sts at each side of the body = 122 (134) 144 sts. Leave these sts on the needle.

Using double-pointed knitting needles size 6.0 mm and 2 strands (1 strand of Anna and Clara’s wool bamboo yarn and 1 strand of Anna and Clara’s mohair yarn), cast on 28 (30) 32 sts. Set a stitch marker at the start of the rd.

Work rib: k1, p1. Work 12 (14) 16 rds.

Now work in stocking stitch and increase (inc) 10 (10) 12 sts evenly in the next rd. To inc: make 1 st purlwise in the loop between 2 sts.

Continue working in stocking stitch and inc 2 sts in every 6th rd. To inc: make 1 st purlwise in the loop between the first and last 2 sts in the rd.

Continue increasing 13 (14) 17 times = 64 (68) 78 sts in all.

Work 1 rd. Cast off 2 (2) 3 sts before and 2 (2) 3 sts after the stitch marker. Work the second sleeve in the same way

Slide all sts onto the circular knitting needle as follows: k1, ssm, k58 (62) 70 sts (left sleeve), ssm, k1, ssm, k61 (67) 72 sts (front), ssm, k1, ssm, k58 (62) 70 sts (right sleeve), ssm, k1, ssm, k61 (67) 72 sts (back), ssm (= start/end of rd. Change colour here if you are knitting stripes).

Work all these sts k in the rd. Decrease (dec) 8 sts in alternate rds. To dec, knit 2 sts together (k2tog) after the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th stitch markers and k2tog through the back loop before the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th stitch markers.

Dec until 74 (78) 80 sts remain.

Finish with k1, p1 rib to desired neck height. Cast off. Weave in ends.
