Canvas lion head
As a tribute to the king of animals, the canvas lion head now watches over its kingdom, the nephew’s room. “If you listen closely, you can almost hear the roar,” Anna chuckles.
Mix the three colours to a subdued beige colour and cover the entire canvas with the paint, using the wide paint brush.
Using the thin paint brush, paint the face of the lion with the dark grey paint.
Cut jute string in pieces of 40 cm. Using a thick, pointy needle, pull jute string through the canvas around the entire edge.
Gather six ends of jute string in knots close to the canvas all the way round. If you want more fringes, you can needle additional jute string, sew through two knots and make a slightly looser knot.
Finally, cut the fringes in the desired length all around the canvas.
