Christmas card lantern

Paint one card with a background colour using watercolour paint. Try to make it lightest in the centre and darkest towards the edges of the card. Let it dry.

Now take the other folding card and draw a window with four panes and mullions centred on the card. Cut out the four panes with the precision knife.

Now cut an oval piece of tissue paper, slightly smaller than the cut-out window, and attach the tissue paper to the cut-out window using double-sided tape, as shown in the video.

When the paint on your first folding card is dry, it is time to decorate it. Paint a green pine tree in the middle of the card, and use the tree stamp to add effects on top of your painted tree. Use the star stamp to create a star at the top of the tree. Let the paint dry.

Punch holes in the gold paper with the hole puncher, and use the punched-out circles to stick onto your tree as small Christmas baubles.

Now, take the folding card with the cut-out window, and fold the front of the card lengthwise so that the outer edge of the front lies along the card's spine fold. Repeat on the back of the card.

Now, the card with the cut-out window should be attached to the card with the painted pine tree using double-sided tape or glue. Attach the window card as shown in the video, so that the window is not glued on but pops out of the card above the Christmas tree.

Now you can choose to write a sweet little message on the margins of the Christmas card.

Finally, place the card on a windowsill with an LED tealight in the centre to add hygge to your home during winter.
