Christmas decoration in glass jar

Create an enchanting Christmas decoration in a glass jar. "The little window makes the decoration a bit more magical," Anna smiles, as her nephew gazes hopefully into the winter wonderland. "The jar can also easily be filled with other items when a new season comes knocking at the door," Clara adds with a smile.

1

Use the lid of the glass jar as a template to cut a round piece of paper. You can, of course, also choose the size of the circle yourself. Attach the paper to the glass jar with sticky tack or tape; however, it should be removable afterwards.

2

Now paint the exterior of the glass with clear varnish.

3

Before the varnish dries, roll the glass in sugar so that the sugar covers all the glue. Then allow it to dry.

4

Now remove the paper to reveal a magical window on the glass.

5

Fill the glass with your, or your child's, favourite things. The sisters suggest moss, decorative figurines, baubles, or small Christmas trees, but the only limit is your imagination.

6

Next, attach a small battery-operated light to the underside of the glass jar’s lid. In this way, the light's batteries can be easily replaced as needed.

7

Now you can turn on the light, place the lid on top of the jar, and let the decoration adorn your Christmas home. "When the winter season is over, and spring time announces itself, you can easily place Easter eggs and spring branches in the jar instead," Clara smiles.
