Christmas decorations with dried oranges

With nature as inspiration, the sisters decorate for Christmas. "Drying your own oranges can be quite entertaining," Anna says. "And look at the lovely Christmas decorations you can create with them," Clara adds. Follow the guide here and create charming Christmas decorations with dried oranges.

1

Cut a piece of jute twine of approx. 28 cm and thread it through a thick needle. Lead the needle through one of your dried orange slices around 0.5 cm from the edge.

2

Create a tassel by folding a piece of A4-cardboard over twice so it measures 15 x 10 cm. Wrap the twine loosely around the short side, until you have a bundle of twine. Cut the ends of one side of the twine.

3

Use the twine you pulled through the orange slice to tie the bundle of twine together in the middle, so the orange and bundle are attached to each other.

4

Cut a new piece of twine at approx. 37 cm. Gather the ends of the twine bundle and tie the new piece around the gathering roughly 2 cm from the orange, so you now have a tassel. "If you wish, you can trim the ends with scissors, so they become even," Anna suggests.

5

Cut another piece of twine of around 40 cm and pull it through the middle of the orange slice. Gather the two ends of twine and thread two wooden beads through so the beads are placed on top of each other on the orange slice.

6

Tie a knot with both ends of the twine on top of the uppermost bead, to secure them. Feel free to tighten it.

7

Finally, tie the two ends together into a loop. Your Christmas decoration is now ready to decorate your home.
