Christmas tree of paper strips and beads
"This homemade ornament will adorn the Christmas tree," Anna says with a smile. "You can use your excess paper strips from weaved stars to make this," Clara suggests.
Mark the paper strip where the thread will be led through using a ruler and pencil. Make a mark 1 cm from the edge of the strip, and then make a mark 7 cm from the first mark. Continue to measure from the previous mark at 7 cm, 6 cm, 6 cm, 5 cm, 5 cm, 4 cm and lastly at 3 cm. Use your embroidery needle to poke a hole all the way through the paper strip at the marks.
Cut a piece of thread at about 50 cm. Thread the embroidery needle and lead it through a bead. Secure the thread by tying a knot at the end.
Thread a new bead. Then lead the needle through the first 7 cm hole. Add another bead. Lead the needle through the very first hole followed by a bead.
Continue at the second 7 cm hole and add a bead. Then continue by moving leading the needle through all the holes in chronological order through the rest of the paper strip. Remember to add a bead after every hole.
When you reach the top, tie a knot. Then use a star at the top of the Christmas tree using the thread or potentially a bit of glue.
At last, tie a knot at the end of the thread so the Christmas tree can be hung.
