Create clay mushrooms
The sisters are fond of fiddling with homemade Christmas decorations. This year, Anna plans to surprise her loved ones with a jar filled with moss and homemade mushrooms neatly placed in it.
Take a piece of clay and roll it to a ball. Shape the ball of clay into a toadstool. Dab with water to smoothen out the clay or pug the clay with wet fingers to make the clay easier to work with.
Take a new piece of clay and form the stem in the wanted size. Press the end of the stem flat, so it can stand.
Scratch the top of the stem using paper folding tools, a needle or a paring knife and dab with water on the scratches. Repeat underneath the toadstool.
The toadstool and the stem can now be put together. Use tools or the fingers to press the clay together along the seam.
Scratch grooves underneath the toadstool.
Add some dots to the mushroom with small balls of clay.
If the mushroom is to be hung, then cut a piece of wire, twist it and press it vertically down through the mushroom. The mushroom is now ready to dry. This takes approximately two days depending on the size of the mushroom.
