Create invitations with foil flowers
"Golden cards for golden moments," Anna smiles to herself, as she puts the finishing touches on the floral invitations with shiny details. Here is how you can follow her creative lead.
Select a card, or fold one yourself from thick paper or cardboard. Now, take the foil roll and cut a piece of foil to an appropriate size. Mount the foil onto the card with decorative tape. This can easily be removed again without damaging the paper. "Just remember that the coloured side of the foil should be facing upwards," Clara reminds you.
Now, place your floral motif stencil on top of the foil where you want the design to be.
Select a tip for the hot foiling pen, which will be used for embossing the foil. You may benefit from starting with the smallest tip to outline the flowers. This tip is also suitable for shading, as demonstrated in the video. Plug the heat pen into the socket and switch it on. After a moment, the pen will light up green and be ready for use.
Outline the edges of the motifs with the hot foiling pen, and shade certain areas if desired. If you wish to fill in areas of the flowers completely, you may consider selecting a broader tip for the pen. "Just be sure to use the included round tool when you want to change the tip on the hot foiling pen," Clara advises.
When the design is complete, open the card, and you can now trim part of the front so that the silhouettes of the flowers are accentuated.
The invitation is now complete. Allow yourself to be inspired by the technique for any further embellishment of the invitation. "Let the various floral patterns also be a creative companion when, for example, you are decorating the envelope," says Anna.
