Crepe paper poppy
With crepe paper, glitter, scissors, and a bit of patience, Anna has created the most beautiful, lifelike poppies to adorn the sisters' kitchen. "Flowers that never fade," notes Clara, who cherishes the idea of a home that blooms eternally.
Print and cut out the templates.
Attach a paper ball onto a stem wire using a glue gun.
Cut out a piece of crepe paper large enough to be cut into four petals afterwards. Dip one end of the crepe paper in tea, and let it dry.
Now cut out the small, square template in crepe paper, and stretch the paper.
Apply glue to the small piece of crepe paper and wrap it around the paper ball. Twist the paper at the top and bottom so that it resembles a caramel, and so the paper covers the ball. If necessary, trim any excess paper at the top.
Now cut out the large square template in crepe paper, stretch it and then fold the paper a few times. Next, cut small fringes in about two-thirds of the paper, as shown in the video. Optionally, you can dip the fringes in a little tea and roll them between your fingers for a natural look and colour.
Once the large piece of crepe paper that was first dipped in tea is dry, the four petals can be cut out according to the template. Stretch the outer edge of the petals but keep the inner part tight.
Decorate the paper ball and the petals with glitter by using a brush.
Now it is time to assemble your poppy. Glue the fringes around the paper ball, as shown in the video, and then glue the petals on one by one.
Finally, wrap the floral tape around the stem wire for a lovely finish and a more lifelike stem.
