Crepe paper ruffle Christmas bauble
When the sisters go on Christmas visits, Anna likes to bring a homemade Christmas ornament as a gift for the host. This Christmas bauble will look lovely on any tree.
First, cover the cardboard ball in silk paper. For this, you will need to make an eye-shaped template. Draw a line of 11 cm on a piece of cardboard. Now, draw a 3.5 cm line across the line in the middle. Finally, draw a curve touching the ends of the lines to form an eye.
Cut out the eye-shaped template, and using this, cut six pieces of silk paper in your desired colour.
Glue the pieces of silk paper on the cardboard ball all the way around it using decoupage glue and a paintbrush.
Now, cut three strips of crepe paper of 0.5 x 10 cm. Cut another three strips in a different colour.
When the layer of silk paper is dry, glue the crepe paper strips to the ball where the silk paper meets at the edges to cover the overlaps.
Cut a strip of crepe paper of 2.5 x 45 cm. Cut also a strip of gold paper of 0.5 x 25 cm.
Sew a seam in the middle of the crepe paper strip to make a ruffle. Fold the crepe paper as you push the strip under the foot to make the ruffles.
Glue the crepe paper ruffle in the middle of the Christmas bauble.
Glue the gold strip in the middle of the ruffle to cover the seam. Cut off the excess piece of gold strip.
Add a bead to the jute twine at the top.
