Crepe paper wall flower

Start by soaking eight rolls of crepe paper in water. As the crepe paper soaks, the colours will blend to create a lovely 'tone-on-tone' effect. Therefore, you should not be deterred from using non-natural colours of crepe paper.

After soaking for approximately 10 minutes, gently take the crepe paper out of the water and let it dry on a tray or plate, possibly lined with baking paper. It is important that they dry completely before you cut them. "Remember to place them on some kind of mat to prevent the colours from staining your table," Clara thoughtfully recommends.

While the crepe paper dries, cut a circular disc of cardboard with a diameter of approximately 20 centimetres. You can use the base of your paper flower set or another recycled cardboard box.

Now, cut Anna's four templates out of plain paper.

Once the crepe paper is completely dry, cut out as many petals as possible using the cut-out templates as follows: Template 1 is used for four rolls og crepe paper, template 2 is used for one roll, template 3 is used for two rolls, and template 4 is used for one roll.

Begin by gluing the largest flower petals along the outer edge of the cardboard disc using a glue gun, as shown in the video. Feel free to mix the colours to achieve a varied and realistic appearance. You may also choose to gently stretch the crepe paper so that the flower achieves a wider and rounder edge.

Continue gluing the remaining pieces of crepe paper onto the cardboard disc; move from the outermost to the innermost part of the disc, from the largest to the smallest petals. The innermost petals can advantageously be slightly crumpled together, as shown in the video.

Now your wall flower can be hung up and adorn your home. "Beauty that never fades," Anna smiles.
