Crochet Bucket Hat
Make an adorable bucket hat – a trendy and attractive addition to your summer attire. "With Anna's diagram, video and description, you can hardly fail," says Clara, and Anna smiles.
Make six squares according to diagram 1. Feel free to use the video instructions that explain the abbreviations for treble crochet stitches, double treble crochet stitches, chain stitches, slip stitches etc.
When you have made all six squares, crochet these together as shown in the video. Use a darning needle to weave in the ends along the joins. Crochet the first and last squares together to form a continuous band of six crochet squares.
Crochet a flat circle according to diagram 2. The video gives you full instructions, including the abbreviations used for the magic circle, treble crochet stitches and increases.
Now join one side of the band to the flat circle. The number of stitches should match if you crochet just one stitch at the corners where the squares are joined. If necessary, assemble the hat with safety pins to create an overview, so that you can better get the number of stitches right.
To finish, use a darning needle to weave in the ends.
Attach your yarn to the other side of the band. Now work the hat brim over three rounds. Round 1: Work 1 treble crochet into each stitch along the band. Join in the round with 1 slip stitch. Round 2: Work 2 treble crochets into every 10th stitch and 1 treble crochet into each of the remaining stitches. Join in the round with 1 slip stitch. Round 3: Work 1 treble crochet into each stitch. Join in the round with 1 slip stitch.
To finish, use a darning needle to weave in the ends.
