Crochet croissant Christmas ornament
When Clara notices the little crochet croissant Anna has hung on the Christmas tree, she fondly remembers the sisters' latest trip to Paris. Download the file to see the crochet pattern.
The croissant is made by crocheting a triangle, which you then roll up and sew together. Using Col 1, make 24 chain stitches (ch). Work treble crochets (tr) back and forth. Row (r) 1: Skip the first two ch, work tr to the end of the r, ending with 2 slip stitches (ss) (Note: every r ends with 2 ss).
Turn the work. To decrease (dec): At the start of the r, skip the first tr and at the end of the r, work the last 2 stitches (sts) together (tog) (all dec are made in this way).
Next 4 rs: No dec. Next r: Dec in this and then every 3rd r. Continue until 3 sts remain. Work 3 tr, turn, dec, cast off and break off yarn. Now switch to Col 2. Work double crochets all the way around the work, except at the base (long side) of the triangle. Weave in all ends except the one at the top of the triangle.
Now roll the triangle from the bottom up. Use the loose tail to sew the tip. Tease the croissant into a crescent shape. Add a thread (col 2) for hanging.
