Crochet Easter egg for hanging
Make adorable Easter decorations with the sisters' crochet pattern for Easter eggs for hanging. "Decorate a window, a branch in a vase or the cosiest corner of the living room with crochet Easter eggs," Anna suggests.
Make a magic circle: First make a magic loop, then work 3 chain (ch) and 8 treble crochet stitches (tr) into the loop = 9 stitches (sts) in total. Join the ring with a slip stitch (ss).
Round (rd) 2: Make 3 ch and then * 2 tr into the next st, 1 tr into the next st *. Repeat from * to * to end of rd = 13 sts. At the end of every rd, work 1 ss into the first st.
Rd 3: Make 3 ch and then * 2 tr into the next st, 1 tr into the next st *. Repeat from * to * end of rd = 19 sts.
Rd 4: Make 3 ch and then work 1 tr into each st = 19 sts.
Rd 5: As rd 4.
Rd 6: Work 3 ch, work 2 tr together (tog) 9 times = 10 sts in total (3 ch + 9 tr). Now insert the egg and work 1 ss to end the rd.
Rd 7: Work 3 ch, work 2 tr tog to end of rd, again halving the total number of sts in the rd. Pull the work snugly around the egg.
If necessary, use a darning needle to gather the last 5 sts.
Attach a hook or something similar to the egg and then attach a ribbon or cord for hanging. If you wish, you can decorate your egg with a pretty bow.
