Notes and memories

Customised journal

"Your creative sense and my love for punctuality and order are truly the essence of a beautiful and practical journal," Clara says to Anna. The sisters like to use their journal as a calendar, meal planner, travel diary, memory book, wish list and much more, and Anna decorates it with drawings, stickers, and pretty pictures. Be inspired by the sisters' ideas and create a journal tailored to your needs.

The sisters use their journals for countless practical purposes. "That is the wonderful thing about the blank pages," Clara says, adding: "They can be filled with whatever you might need to write down." With each new week that arises, Clara likes to dedicate pages in her journal to the week's chores, meal plans, and cleaning routines. Moreover, she always has an annual calendar at the back of the book, where the year's most important events and birthdays are noted. "I also like to write down wish lists on a separate page," she adds. To make the journal especially decorative, you can, for example, create a calendar with leaves, as shown in the video. "It is important that the diary is also a delight to the eye," believes Anna, who loves a personal journal.

To Anna, it is important that her journal also contains blank pages that can be filled with drawings or DIY ideas when a creative thought suddenly strikes her. She also likes to use her journal as a memory book, where she inserts pictures, museum tickets, or other souvenirs from her excursions and travels. The sisters also suggest keeping lists of the things that bring you joy. How about a list of books you would like to read? Or a gratitude journal? The possibilities are endless, they believe. "And unlike a traditional, pre-determined calendar, where many pages of paper might go to waste, a personalised journal has the advantage of allowing you to only fill the pages you need," Clara remarks.

The sisters encourage you to personalise your journal. "With markers, stamps, and stickers, it becomes not only personal but also beautiful to look at," adds Anna, who enjoys turning to yet another blank page just waiting to be coloured. The sisters suggest that you vary between different layouts. Bullet points can be ideal for to-do lists, while you can experiment with different shapes, including squares, triangles, and circles, for other types of lists. Create beautiful headlines with lovely colours or follow the DIY video for a particularly charming headline with flowers and tape. You can also choose to decorate your pages with pictures, stickers, or other small, quirky details, which will make every time you leaf through your journal a joyful experience.

Another idea could be to use your journal to break your bad habits. Or perhaps there is something you would like to practice doing even more? How about keeping a list of your runs, or celebrating every time you complete a knitting project without dropping a stitch? The sisters see incredible versatility in the journal. Try it for yourself and customise your journal to accommodate everything you might need in your everyday life.
