A board of inspiration. Hang knitting samples, travel memories, and little specks of colour on a big board by the desk. Paint it a colour that makes you happy at the moment. A board like this is easy to repaint.

Colourful assortment. Let you favourite colours of sewing thread hang on the board.

Boxes and baskets. A cabinet full of creative materials and tools is a delight, the sisters believe. Organise the items with boxes, crates, and baskets.

Order. Mark the contents of the folding crates with chalk markers, like here on the crates for gift tags, ribbons, and postcards.

Labels. Note the contents of the boxes on little labels so you can easily and quickly find the exact little bits and bobs you need.

Handle. If you are storing multiple boxes in the cabinet, it can be helpful to add a leather handle. It also looks nice.

Hidden storage. Choose furniture with clever storage solutions. Here, embroidery thread and other needlework materials are kept in a little side table.

Keep track of your projects. Organise your current projects in crates with manila tags. This way, it is easy to grab a box when it is time to be creative.

Make a little system where your projects in progress can easily be stores away and found again.
