Easter eggs with napkins

One of the highlights of Easter is the annual egg rolling competition in the garden, Anna thinks. As the nieces' and nephew's finely decorated eggs roll swiftly down the small hill, she crosses her fingers. "May you all win," she says.

1

Begin by boiling the desired number of eggs. Once the egg is cold, you can decorate it any way you like. Here, Anna and Clara have chosen decoupage with floral napkins and a touch of gold.

2

Carefully separate the top printed layer of your chosen napkin. Cut out motifs from the napkin and set the pieces aside.

3

Start by brushing a little decoupage glue onto the egg. Now, place a cutout napkin motif on the egg, and spread another layer of decoupage glue over the motif as shown in the video. Continue until you achieve the desired expression of your egg.

4

When the decoupage glue is dry, you can decorate with metallic paint. Find inspiration in the video.

5

Once the metallic paint is dry, you can brush a layer of varnish over the entire egg to achieve a glossy effect and to protect the designs.

6

When the egg is dry, it is ready to use — no matter whether the eggs are meant to adorn your home or to be part of a fun egg rolling competition. "Remember, it is not about winning, but about having fun," Anna says.
