Embroidery with water-soluble embroidery paper
"Personalise your favourite tote bag or blouse with a lovely embroidered flower," Anna suggests. With a water-soluble template, creating an embroidery that both breathes new life into old clothes and adds an extra touch to new ones, becomes a breeze.
Start by finding the motif you wish to embroider. It could be your favourite photo, a lovely picture from a magazine, or something entirely different.
Place your selected image on the LED drawing pad, and adjust it to your desired brightness level.
Place the water-soluble embroidery paper on top of the image. Anna suggests securing the embroidery paper with some tape for good measure.
Next, sketch your motif with a pencil on the water-soluble embroidery paper.
Cut the embroidery paper as close to the motif as possible.
Now remove the paper on the backside of the embroidery paper, and place the motif on your tote bag.
Now, secure the fabric in the embroidery hoop, and you are ready to go. Clara recommends visiting the sisters' website, where you can find a guide called "Learn the basic embroidery stitches", if you need help getting started.
When you have finished embroidering, the part of the tote bag you have just embroidered should be placed in lukewarm water. This will dissolve the embroidery paper.
When the tote bag is dry, it is ready for use.
