Enchanting baby blanket
With larger projects, calm can truly descend. Anna did not notice how the day was waning as she was crocheting this piece. It brings a special kind of joy to gift a soft, crocheted baby blanket like this, where every stitch is crocheted with care and thought for the small recipient.
Using crochet hook size 3.5 mm and Col 1, chain (ch) 140. Work 6 rows of treble crochet (tr). Switch to Col 3, work 1 row tr and then 1 row double crochet (dc). Switch to Col 1 and work 1 row tr. Switch to Col 2, work 1 row tr and then 1 row dc. Col 1, work 1 row tr. Col 5, work 1 row tr. Work 1 row dc. Col 1, work 1 row tr. Col 4, work 1 row tr. Work 1 row dc. Continue stripe pattern. Repeat 5 times. Using Col 3, work 1 row tr and then 1 row dc. Switch to Col 1 and work 6 rows tr. The body of your blanket is now complete. Using Col 2, work dc around the blanket. To shape corners, work 2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc into the same stitch. Work a total of 4 rounds. Work the final round in Col 1. Weave in ends. Press the work lightly with a steam iron.
