Fabric mobile with various nuances
From time to time, the sisters enjoy making projects together. While Clara dyes the textiles, Anna makes sure to combine the strips so the mobile can achieve the perfectly imperfect look. "It is quite easy to dye fabric with resources from the kitchen. Avocado peels, red onion peels and turmeric - you can use any of these," Clara smiles.
Dye your textiles with the preferred natural colorant. Anna has previously made a guide to dyeing fabric with avocado peels where you can find the method. You can also use other textiles in different colours and patterns. It all depends on which look you would like the mobile to have.
Tie two metal rings in different sizes together. You can decide the distance between the small and large ring. The small ring adds levels and volume to the mobile.
Hang the rings where you would like. This could be a hook in the ceiling or a tree in the garden.
Start tearing your textile into strips of 5-10 cm width. Use about the amount of fabric which would make a couple of sheets or a duvet cover.
Tie the strips onto the rings. If you wish to create a voluminous mobile, you can simply tie the strips closer together. You can also use extra metal rings and hang them in further levels. If you would like the strips to be firmly secured to the rings, you can glue them onto the rings with a glue gun or double-sided adhesive tape.
Cut the ends off the strips at different lengths for a more dynamic look.
