Friendship necklace

The sisters' nieces carefully press the first letter of their names onto each half of the heart. "Who is your best friend, Auntie Anna?" they ask. "Oh, that must be your Auntie Clara," Anna says and adds: "Especially when she brings me a hot cup of tea while I am immersed in creative pursuits."

1

Download and print the template and cut it out.

2

Roll a lump of self-hardening clay out flatly to a thickness of 3-4 mm.

3

Place the heart on the clay and cut around the template with a hobby knife.

4

Lightly press the letter stamp with the first letters of the names of the two friends who will wear the necklace, on each half of the heart.

5

Divide the heart by cuttting zig-zags thorugh the middle of it.

6

Make a hole with an awl in the middle of the arches of the half hearts, about 4 mm from the edge. The holes should have a diameter of 3 mm, so the cord can go through it when layed double. "You can take a bit of water with your fingers and even the surface of the clay out," Anna recommends.

7

Let the half hearts dry for 24 hours.

8

Now the pendants can be painted.

9

Cut a piece of cord in a length to fick the neck but add another 10 cm. Make two adjustable knots on each side. Lay the cord double. Start with one side. Hold both cords with your thumb and index finger. Twist the loose end twice around your index finger. Bring the end of the cord through your two nooses and tighten. Turn the necklace and repeat on the opposite side.

10

Finish the necklace by putting the pendant on the cords. Fold the cord in the middle and attach it to the pendant's hole like a noose.
