Fun family tree for the shelf
"Some trees have many leaves, others have few. But the trees can be equally strong regardless," Anna explains while the nieces work on the fun family tree.
Colour six big ice lolly sticks brown with a coloured pencil.
Glue together the ice lolly sticks along the long end to form a tree trunk.
Glue two wooden sticks to the middle of every other ice lolly stick so they form an upside down V from the trunk to the table for stability.
Glue a green pipe cleaner to every other ice lolly stick from the inside of the trunk. Twist the pipe cleaners a few cm around each other in the middle of the tree trunk.
Put beads on the pipe cleaners and bend them in organic shapes like branches.
Cut leaves from green cardboard and write names or titles of family members on them.
Cut extra leaves from a green felt sheet.
Glue the leaves to the pipe cleaners with "Me" and the names of any siblings in the middle and a parent to each side.
Glue together two pom pons. Cut a little triangular beak from metallic cardboard and glue it to one of the pom pons. Add two plastic eyes above the beak. Bend a pipe cleaner in the middle and glue it to the bottom pom pon as legs.
Place the bird at the top of the tree.
Decorate the tree trunk with sparkling rhinestones.
