Gift idea: A forest picnic
"The perfect gift for loving grandparents is a nice picnic in the forest with their grandchildren," Anna smiles while she helps the nieces decorate the suitcase which will serve as a Christmas gift.
Download and print the templates.
Paint the inside of the suitcase. Anna recommends painting the bottom grass green and the lid sky blue. Cut strips and paint them in a matching blue colour.
Cut and colour the templates. The templates are marked with A, B and C, so it is easier to know which parts go together.
Gather tree A. Bend the A strip and glue it onto the back of tree A at the spot shown on the template. Now, bend the bottom of the tree trunk and glue this to the bottom of the suitcase and glue the end of the A strip to the lid as shown in the video.
Continue with the rest of the trees (B and C). Make sure that you do not glue the trees too far out to the sides of the suitcase as the tree tops will then risk getting caught when you close the suitcase.
Decorate the suitcase with pieces of felt, mushrooms, and dried flowers along with grass made of silk paper to make a nice 3D effect, as shown in the video. You can also draw small plates and food in cardboard and glue these onto the bottom of the suitcase.
Decorate the trees with apples and leaves of cardboard and pom pons.
Tie a bow around the suitcase and add a card. Gift this to someone you hold dear.
