Homemade brass mistletoe

1

Create a paper template of a double leaf mistletoe and use the template to draw leaves on the brass paper with a pointed tool. You can make the leaves in different sizes for a more natural look.

2

Cut out the leaves with scissors.

3

Pierce a hole at the top of each leaf using an awl. Use a pincushion as a base to avoid pricking your fingers.

4

Cut pieces of wire in various lengths. Thread the pieces of metal wire through the holes in the leaves, and twist the wire around itself to secure the leaf to the wire.

5

Thread 2–3 beads onto a piece of wire, and twist them together so they resemble the berries on a mistletoe. Make as many berries as you wish for your mistletoe.

6

Now assemble the mistletoe by winding the leaves and berries together. You create the mistletoe's branches by twisting the ends of the wire together. See how in the video.

7

Finally, form a loop with the ends of the wire and attach a fine ribbon for hanging. Tie a bow around the mistletoe as a nice finishing touch.
