Homemade lamp from plastic tableware
With a touch of creativity, one thing can be transformed into something entirely different, the sisters believe. Therefore, they have created a colourful and unique lamp from plastic tableware. "Incredibly personal and decorative," Anna thinks
NB: The sisters kindly remind you to comply with the applicable electricity regulations. Furthermore, you must use an LED bulb in the lamp, as a halogen bulb generates intense heat, which will make the lampshade hot and thus prone to melting.
Begin by assembling various pieces of plastic tableware until you achieve the desired design of the lamp.
Then, drill a hole in the centre of all plastic parts using a drill. You may want to use a slightly blunt drill bit to avoid splitting the plastic. You can easily increase the size of the hole afterwards with a larger drill to make room for the wire. Use a precision knife to achieve a smooth inside.
Then spray paint the plastic parts in your desired colours outdoors. Remember to cover the surroundings so as to avoid paint splatters and let dishes dry completely before proceeding.
When all plastic parts are dry, assemble them by using a glue gun.
Finally, feed the cord through the holes and mount the LED bulb. Now your lamp is ready to be hung in a cosy reading nook or above the dining table.
