Knitted bag with a drawstring
This little bag is especially nice for storing your crocheted make-up remover pads. "Or other little treasures," Anna says. Knit your own from cotton yarn or yarn scraps.
Cast 48 stitches(st) on 4 double-pointed knitting needles size 4 mm using Anna & Clara’s cotton yarn.
Knit (k) 4 rounds (rds).
Rd 5: Yarn over needle (yon), knit 2 together (k2tog), k22, yon, k2tog, k22.
K3 rds, purl (p) 1, k8 rds.
Continue with 28 rds in a mesh pattern: Rd 1: *Yon, k2tog*, repeat from * to * the whole rd. Rd 2: Use knit stitches (ks).
Repeat these 2 rds 14 times in all.
Bottom: P1 rd.
Start the decreases: k2tog at the beginning of each needle on all rds, and k the rest ks.
Continue until there are 3 st left on each needle. Break the yarn, and pull it through the remaining st.
Fold the top edge halfway down the inside and sew it so that the purl rd becomes the top edge and a drawstring hem is formed.
Cut the leather cord in two, 50 cm each.
Pass one leather cord through the hole on one side and out through the same hole.
Pass the second leather cord the opposite way around through the hole on the other side.
Tie a knot at each end.
Weave in the ends.
