Knitted short-sleeved top

The blouse is knitted from the top down on circular needles and the pattern formed by increases. How to make the increases (incs): Skip 3 stitches (sts), insert the right needle between the 3rd and 4th st, knit 1 st without slipping it off the right needle, knit the 3 skipped sts = 4 sts in all. This is abbreviated inc 1.

Using knitting needle size 5 mm and 1 strand of alpaca/mohair yarn with 1 strand of mohair/nylon yarn, cast on 78 (90) 102 sts. Set a stitch marker (ssm) at the start of the round (rd). Work 5 rds: knit (k) to end of rd. Switch to knitting needle size 6 mm.

The next rd is the first inc rd – every increase is described below. Between each inc rd, work 5 rds without increasing (not stated below). Increasing: 1st inc rd: *k3, inc 1*, repeat from * to * 13 (15) 17 times. 2nd inc rd: *inc 1, k4*, repeat from * to* 13 (15) 17 times. 3rd inc rd: k4, *inc 1, k5*, repeat from * to * 13 (15) 17 times, k1. 4th inc rd: *inc 1, k6*, repeat from * to * 13 (15) 17 times. 5th inc rd: k5, *inc 1, k7*, repeat from * to * 13 (15) 17 times, k2. 6th inc rd: *inc 1, k8*, repeat from * to * 13 (15) 17 times. 7th inc rd: k6, *inc 1, k9*, repeat from * to * 13 (15) 17 times, k3. 8th inc rd: *inc 1, k10*, repeat from * to * 13 (15) 17 times. 9th inc rd: k7, *inc 1, k11*, repeat from * to * 13 (15) 17 times, k4. There are now a total of 195 (225) 255 sts in the rd. Now work 5 (7) 9 rounds.

Ssm, leave 47 (53) 59 sts on the needle for sleeve, cast on 8 sts, k51 (60) 69 (back), leave 47 (53) 59 sts on the needle for sleeve, cast on 8 sts, k50 (59) 68 (front).

Front and back: Work 31 (33) 35 cm: k to end of rd. Change to knitting needle size 5 and work 5 rds for a rolled edge or rib as you wish. Cast off.

Sleeves: Using knitting needle size 6 mm, pick up 8 sts at one armhole and work 8 (10) 12 cm in stocking stitch in the rd (k to end) over the 47 (53) 59 sleeve sts. Switch to knitting needle size 5 mm and work 5 rds for a rolled edge. Work the second sleeve in the same way. Weave in ends.
