Linocut on canvas
Anna is very fond of the beautiful and rustic linocuts. She especially enjoys the fact that a print can be used over and over again on different backgrounds or to make up one large work of art, as she shows in the video here.
Draw your desired pattern on the linoleum rubber board. You can, if you wish to, make stripes with a ruler.
Cut out the pattern with the linoleum knife. It does not have to be completely sharp. "A handmade look is absolutely charming," Anna says. Do make sure that the cuttings are deep, so the print will stand out. You can cut the same line multiple times.
Find some cardboard or similar to protect the table and press out the linoleum paint. Roll the linoleum roller in the paint until it is completely covered, and now, roll the paint onto the rubber board.
Place the painted rubber board on the canvas. It is easiest to start from one corner, if you are working with a large canvas where the print must be pressed multiple times.
Press lightly on the back of the rubber board with you hands to ensure that the paint gets all over it.
Carefully pull the linocut off the canvas. If you wish to decorate a large canvas, then repeat until the entire canvas is covered.
