Lovely visible mending of clothes
"There is beauty in imperfection," the sisters believe. When one of the nieces accidentally tears a hole in her pants, Anna mends the tear in a way that enhances the mending instead of hiding it.
Cut a piece of patchwork fabric or another kind of cotton fabric to fit the size of he tear in the pants or other clothes item you are mending. There should be approx. 2 cm extra fabric all around the hole.
Place the fabric patch on the back of the hole so it is centered. Attach it with pins.
Add embroidery thread on a needle. You could add several threads to the needle. In this case, the mended area will become more firm and thick.
Sew along the edge of the tear all the way around it.
Now, embroider back and forth through pants and patchwork patch. You can embroider a pattern or go for a more casual look.
