Macramé wreath
Clara is delighted by the calmness she experiences as she patiently knots the many little knots for the wreath. The finished result will adorn a wall in the sisters' home.

First, knot the wooden beads on to the wreath by following the guide: Cut four pieces of macramé yarn of approx. 55 cm each and bend them in the middle, so they are doubled.

Tie all four pieces of yarn on the round mobile frame at the middle of the yarn pieces.

There are now eight pieces of yarn hanging next to each other on the round mobile frame.

Gather the four pieces of yarn in one of the sides and make four square knots around the two middle pieces of yarn with the two outer pieces. It is important that you alternate between starting the knot from the right and left side as you work your way down so the knot stich will be flat and balanced. Repeat the same process with the other four pieces of yarn hanging from the frame.

Now, gather the two middle yarn pieces out of all eight and add a big needle to one of the pieces. Add a wooden bead to the thread. Repeat with the other middle yarn piece and bring the needle through the same wooden bead.

The wooden bead is now attached to the two middle ones of the eight yarn pieces.

Now, place the two yarn pieces nearest the wooden bead close to the bead, and make square knots with the outer yarn pieces two pieces at the time below the wooden bead around the four middle yarn pieces.

Cut the yarn ends so they are approx. 2-3 cm.

Fringe the edges with a comb.

Repeat the process until there are 10 wooden beads on the round metal frame.

You will now make the leaves that will hang from the wreath. Cut six pieces of yarn of approx. 70 cm. Tie three of the pieces to the round metal frame between the fourth and fifth bead, fifth and sixth bead, and sixth and seventh bead.

Now, use a piece of yarn from the remaining pile of 70 cm yarn pieces, bend it in the middle and place it around the yarn pieces you have just tied on the metal frame. Now, make a spiral stich with the new piece of yarn around the two ends of yarn on the metal frame.

Make the spiral stitches as long as you please. In the shown example, the spiral stich pieces where the leaves are hanging from are the following lenghts: Right: 15 cm. Middle: 12 cm Left: 7 cm

When the spiral stich is a suitable length, you must cut a pile of yarn pieces for the leaves. Each piece should be 28 cm. In the shown example, the following amount of yarn pieces are used for each leaf: Little leaf: 18 pieces. Middle leaf: 24 pieces. Big leaf: 32 pieces.

Take two of the yarn pieces you have just cut and fold them in the middle. Now, knot them around the loose ends under the spiral stitch.

Continue knotting new pieces of yarn on to it, until the leaf is the desired size. The visible noose that appears and stitches each new pieces of yarn to the leaf must be placed alternately in each side all the way down the leaf.

Fringe the yarn ends of the leaves with a comb.

Cut the fringes so the leaves get the right shape.

Cut a long piece of macramé yarn and add it to the wreath for hanging.
