Make your own eco print

"With just a few bits from the kitchen and the garden dreamy decorations for the walls are created," Anna smiles, while she excitedly folds out her pieces of silk and admires her newest project.

1

Pour water and vinegar into a container or bowl. There should be 1 dl of vinegar for 500 ml of lukewarm water. Put both pieces of silk into this and leave them for 15 minutes.

2

Remove the silk from the water mix, and twist it so the water runs out. Lay the silk pieces on a table. If the pieces are not square, you can find the middle by folding the piece halfway and back again.

3

Put freshly picked flowers on one half of the silk with the flowers' front upwards. Fold the other half of the silk on top of the flowers. "This is done to keep the flowers in place and so their prints kan be seen when finished," Anna says.

4

Roll the fabric like in the video. The piece should be tight and become a long roll. Roll again from one end, so you get a small ball. Tie cotton string tightly around this.

5

On the second piece of silk, you can spread onion peels and chili flakes on the whole piece. "When you use onion peels and chili flakes, the result will always be an abstract motif," Anna says.

6

Repeat the method of rolling the silk into a ball. Finish with the cotton string.

7

Fill a pot halfway with water and place a sieve on top without letting it touch the water. Put both balls into the sieve.

8

When the water boils, simply turn down the heat and let it simmer for a few hours so the silk is steamed.

9

Roll out the balls and remove the filling.

10

When the silk pieces are dry, you can put them into frames and hang them as wall deco. You can put a piece of silk paper behind the fabric in the frame if you please.
