Ocean-themed clay earrings
With oven-bake clay, or polymer clay, many magical creations can come to life. The wondrous creatures of the sea fascinate Anna so much that she has crafted her own seashell earrings with simple means. "You can almost hear the ocean's roar," she smiles.
Start by kneading the oven-bake clay until it is workable. Then roll it into a cone-shaped rod, and trim the ends as shown in the video.
Roll the cone-shaped rod approximately one and a half turns into a spiral shape. Begin with the narrow end. Cut away the remaining clay. See how in the video.
Gently press the rolled piece, and create grooves with the clay tool to make it resemble a conch shell.
Insert a bead stick through the centre of the shell. Remove the bead stick again.
Repeat steps 1 to 4, so you have a total of two seashells.
Bake the seashells in the oven according to the instructions for the oven-bake clay, and allow them to cool.
Thread the bead stick through the seashell once more, and then add a freshwater pearl.
Form a loop with the round-nose pliers and the flat-nose pliers, as shown in the video, and squeeze. Finally, attach the ear hook. Repeat steps 7 and 8, and then the earrings are ready to use.
