Anna likes to use the desk for her many creative DIY projects and marvellous ideas, while Clara prefers to focus on her scribbles and practical tasks. “The desk is the most important element of the office,” says Anna with a smile. When the nieces come to visit, the sisters’ home office becomes a place filled with “hygge” where the dear little ones can do their homework. An organised home office

The always organised Clara finds it of the utmost importance to have a tidy and organised home office. She is quite fond of organising her documents in folders in order to easily find what she is looking for later on. “Your work becomes easier to do, when things are neatly organised,” says Clara. In the sisters’ home office, you will find all sorts of ring binders in wonderful colours, so their files, creative ideas and scribbles can be put away in an easy and elegant way. “With wonderful office supplies, the home office can be both nice and tidy,” says Clara with a smile.

“Every home office should include a pinboard,” the sisters find. Anna suggests creating your own wonderful pinboard with colourful felt balls. “The homemade pinboard works both as a wall decoration and a practical element in the office,” says Anna. When the sisters planned the decoration of their home office, it was particularly important to them to create a calm and pleasant workspace. “With natural materials and calming colours, you can create a home office filled with “hygge” that invites contemplation and creativity,” says Anna. She recommends making the materials and colours stand out throughout the furniture as well as the office supplies for a cohesive look.

With wonderful natural wooden and cork materials, you can create a warm and inviting office that can be used both for work and creative projects. “Paper is not simply paper,” as the sisters like to say. They have a fondness for versatile and natural materials that frames their writing, drawing and painting. “Paper is a wonderful material that invites creativity,” says Anna.

“With the right tools, you can easily create your own little office on the go,” says Anna with a smile. She likes to have a few notebooks, a calendar and some drawing tools with her in her bag, whenever she is on the go. “A creative idea or thought can occur anywhere,” she says. When Clara is on the go, she often brings her computer in a fine cover and a drinking bottle filled with water. Like Anna, she likes to have a physical calendar with her, in order for her to plan her days and organise her to-do lists. “To plan is a pure delight,” as Clara likes to say.

Working from home

When Anna and Clara work from home, the sweet notes of classical music roam through the house, while they contemplate on their thoughts sitting at their desks. In the sisters’ home office, they both have their own desk and a common working area. “Those who work together, have fun together,” as Anna says.

If you often find yourself working from home, Clara suggests making sure to structure and plan your workday. It can be a good idea to structure your day at the home office, as to divide your work from your free time. “Start the day off by creating an overview of the tasks of the day or the week,” Clara recommends. You can for example write down your working tasks in a notebook or on small notes that can be moved around, as needed.

The sisters also recommend that you remember to take breaks, when working from home. In a workplace, breaks often come naturally, but these can easily be forgotten at home. “A much-needed break can work wonders for your creativity and productivity,” claims Clara.

A creative calendar

The sisters share a calendar in which they write down their upcoming festivities and appointments. “It is important to keep track of one’s plans,” says Clara. Anna has created a darling calendar with watercolour patterns. You can easily create your own monthly calendar by printing out the sisters’ template and decorating it, as you wish.

Ready, set, go to school

When the summer vacation comes to an end, it is once again time for school for both younger and older children. Anna and Clara’s nieces have their own working corner in the sisters’ home. Here, they take turns doing their homework, whenever they are visiting after school. “Homework is more fun with colourful desk accessories”, says Anna.

Desk for play and learning

Anna has decorated the nieces’ desk focusing on joy, creativity and fun. “With happy colours and patterns, you can create a creative and wonderful space for the dear little ones,” she says. On the desk, Anna has placed a magazine holder in various colours, so the nieces each have their own working books and sketch pads.

Above the desk, Clara has placed a practical grid pinboard on which hangs small notes, drawings and the nieces’ timetables. “A timetable can be both practical and decorative for the dear little ones,” Clara finds.

Easy treats

For the lunch

Fill the school day with a little more “hygge” with delicious and healthy treats. Anna has developed an easy recipe for savoury muesli bars that are both crunchy and delicious options for the packed lunch. The homemade muesli bars can be prepared both with and without added sugar, and they can include dried cranberries, nuts, raisins or chocolate. “Older and younger children alike will surely appreciate savoury treats,” says Anna with a smile.

The pencil case is important for the dear little ones and their back to school period. It should contain all the necessities for writing, drawing and calculating. “Make writing and drawing even more joyous with quirky pencils in lovely colours and patterns,” says Anna. She suggests letting the little ones pick their own tools, so they will enjoy using them in school.

Besides the various types of writing tools, it can be a good idea to include accessories such as scissors and a glue stick in the pencil case. “Creative development strengthens learning,” as Anna likes to say. The sisters also recommend packing a notebook in the school bag. “It is always nice having a notebook within arm’s reach,” says Clara with a smile.
