Paper star tree topper

From the beautiful Christmas treetop, the sisters’ homemade star shines. Anna has created a personal ornament to decorate the Christmas tree. Now, you can make your own as well. First, start with one side of the rosette, but a good tip is to make twice as much of your paper, so you can quickly assemble the other side with the extra set.

1

Use two sheets of design paper to make two identical rosettes with 1.5 cm wide folds. Use a hot glue gun to assemble the rosette.

2

Cut a line of silver tissue paper with a height of approximately 7 cm, then cut fringes on one side and glue the fringe on the centre of the rosette in a circle.

3

Cut a line of rose tissue paper with a height of approximately 9 cm. Instead of fringes, this strip is cut into pointy tips. Glue the strip of pointy tips on top of the fringe but continue to glue around in a circle towards the middle of the rosette.

4

Cut a star of glitter stickers. The quirkier you can make it, the better. Glue it onto the middle and now glue the bead sticker onto the centre of the gold star. Add small star stickers in a random pattern.

5

Cut light yellow crepe paper of a heigh of approximately 15-20 cm, pull at the paper so it smoothens and fold this before you cut it into random, long leaf shapes, twist these at the end and secure them between each pleat with a hot glue gun.

6

Cut a 15-20 cm line of peach crepe paper, now, cut in a pattern of pointy tips on one side and secure along the sides of the rosette on top of the pleats and crepe paper leaves.

7

Glue random dots here and there on the front of the rosette star and glue foil flakes on to it.

8

Make the other side of the star.

9

You can now make the holder for the star. Use 2-3 pieces of metal wire and cut a strip of crepe paper, which you pull. Now glue the strip of crepe paper to the end of the assembled metal wires and twist the paper around the entire length of the metal wire.

10

Glue the holder to one side of the star using scrap paper, then glue the other side so the holder is placed in between the two sides of the star. When mounting the star, it is important that you can secure it on a top piece of Christmas tree branch, which can be placed between the pleats. Now, you can twist the holder firmly over the top branch.
