Patchwork cushion cover

Give your cushions new life with a patchwork cushion cover, sewn from fabric scraps or the sisters' patchwork fabric. The possibilities are endless when you mix and match the fabric patterns. The pattern in the instructions is designed for a cushion measuring 45 x 45 cm.

1

Print and cut out the templates, and attach them to your patchwork fabric with pins. Cut out 8 large and 8 small pieces of fabric.

2

Position all the fabric pieces so that they form the pattern you wish to have on the cushion. You can find inspiration in the video. Begin with 4 large and 4 small pieces of fabric for one side of the cushion.

3

Place the fabric pieces that touch each other right side to right side. Secure them with pins, and sew the pieces together one by one.

4

Once you have sewn two pieces of fabric together, press the reverse side of the seam with an iron, so the seams lay flat.

5

Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all the fabric pieces are sewn together into one large square.

6

Follow steps 2-5 once more to create the opposite side of the cushion.

7

Finally, sew the two pieces of patchwork together, right sides facing each other, leaving one side open. Now turn it right side out, and fill the cover with cushion filling.

8

Finally, sew the last side together by hand close to the edge, and fasten it.
