Patchwork fabric project bag

Sew a lovely fabric bag for your knitting supplies or other small necessities with patchwork fabric or old fabric scraps. See how here.

1

Sew two pieces of the sisters' patchwork fabric together across the short edge, right sides facing each other. Then press the seam, where the seams part, as shown in the video.

2

Make a rolled hem on both of the long sides. This is done by folding the fabric about 1 cm twice, so the raw edge is concealed. Sew together approximately in the centre of the hem.

3

Now tie a knot around the seam so that it is no longer visible.

4

Fold the fabric over the knot, right side facing right side, and sew the two sides together approximately 22 cm up towards the knot. Sew about 0.5 cm from the edge, so you are sewing on top of the rolled hem stitching.

5

Now the bottom of the bag needs to be sewn together. Fold the fabric so that the seams on the sides are aligned with each other, and sew the bottom together with a seam allowance of approximately 0.5 cm. Sew with a zigzag stitch afterwards to prevent the fabric from fraying.

6

Finally, turn the bag so that the right side is facing outwards, and use it for storing knitting supplies and other necessities.
