Patchwork flag
You shouldn't waste any occasion to throw a party and decorations are an important part of every celebration, Anna and Clara believe. In Denmark, where the sisters live, flags are essential at every birthday. Anna wants to do something special for the nieces' birthday and therefore she has sewn these flags for the big day.
Download and print the template. Cut two squares of the patchwork fabric.
Sew the two squares together inside out with 1 cm seam allowance, except on the short side.
Turn the inside in and iron the square.
Attach the ribbon onto the square with needles and sew the ribbon on in any pattern you'd like. Here, Anna has sewn it in a cross to match the Danish flag. Anna has also used lace ribbon, but any fabric ribbon can be used, i.e. silk ribbon.
Sew the short side of the flag together a few millimetres from the edge.
Glue one side of the flag onto a thick knitting needle with a glue gun and add to the birthday party or in a gift basket.
