Spring is slowly returning, and Anna and Clara are busy getting ready for Easter. With soft pom poms and delicate details, this little Easter bunny takes shape – ready to spread cosiness around the home or adorn this year’s Easter table.

1

You will need a total of three pom poms for the bunny: one small, one medium, and one large. Wind yarn in colours of your choice around the pom pom makers, as shown in the video. “Just remember to wind plenty of yarn around the tool so that your pom poms turn out nice and full,” Clara says.

2

Once there is enough yarn on your three pom pom makers, close them using the locking mechanism so they form a circle. The pom poms are now ready to be cut open all the way around along the circle. Then tie a piece of string tightly around each pom pom, as shown in the video, before removing the pom pom maker.

3

Print and cut out the template for the bunny’s ears, then trace and cut two ears out of felt. Colour the ears as you like using felt-tip pens, and feel free to find inspiration in the video. “Remember to use a protective surface so the ink doesn’t bleed through the felt,” Clara says kindly.

4

Take two wooden beads, which will form the bunny’s eyes, and colour them black using a pen.

5

Next, take a needle and sewing thread and shape the bottom of each felt ear into a W, then secure the ears in this shape with the thread. Set the ears aside for later.

6

It is now time to shape your pom poms. The large pom pom will form the bunny’s body, while the small one is the tail. Trim these two pom poms slightly so they look neat and even. “Try not to cut off the long strands of yarn used to tie the pom pom together, as they are useful for assembling the bunny at the end,” Clara says.

7

The medium-sized pom pom will form the bunny’s head. Start by sewing the bunny’s eyes – the two black wooden beads – onto the pom pom using needle and yarn.

8

Now trim the yarn on this medium pom pom around the eyes so they become visible, and continue trimming until you are happy with the shape of the face. Then sew the two ears onto the bunny’s head. “You can also choose to embroider a little nose for an extra lovely detail,” Anna smiles.

9

Finally, assemble all three pom poms using needle and yarn as shown in the video. The bunny is now finished and ready to create a cosy Easter atmosphere in your home. If you wish, you can also make just the bunny’s head and tie a string to it, so it can be used as a whimsical Easter ornament.
