Renew a hanger with a Knitting Nancy

Put yarn on the embroidery needle and put it through the hole of the Knitting Nancy.

Start knitting with the Knitting Nancy like this: Put the yarn the right way around one of the little metal arches like a noose. Continue this counter clockwise on the remaining metal arches. When you have reached the last metal arch, bring the yarn around the metal arch on the inside of it and through to the outside of the next arch. Hold the Knitting Nancy in the hand which you will not knit with and keep track of the yarn threads with your index finger. Now, using your knitting hand, use a needle to lead the noose over the loose yarn thread which lead to the ball of yarn and all the way over the metal arch. Tug at the yarn in the bottom of the Knitting Nancy to tighten it. Turn the knitting Nancy counter clockwise to the next metal arch, and pull the noose from this arch over the loose thread and over the metal arch. Continue with all metal arches.

Continue this until you have knitted enough to cover the entire hanger. If you would like to change colour, you can simply cut the yarn and tie a new colour onto the thread. Hide the knots on the inside of the knitted tube.

When you would like to close the knitted tube, you should transfer all four nooses from the Knitting Nancy on to a crocheting needle. Catch the yarn thread with the end of the crocheting needle, pull the yarn thread through the four nooses and tighten it. Close only one end of the tube now.

Use pliers to open the hanger at the joint.

Pull the knitted tube onto the hanger through the tube's open end, so the entire hanger is covered in knit.

Finish the end off with a knot.

Collect the hanger again where you opened it. Now, however, you can get by with only twisting it once.
